Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born August 9th, 1976. She was born from Beaumont Puy de Domme. Her parents a dental surgeon and teacher recognized and supported her interest in theater and acting since her early years, which was more important than a desire to be a primatologist due to her love of monkeys. As a young woman rising to the heights of fame was fast and punctuated by initial recognition and success. In 1998, after completing her masters degree, she was asked to join Jeunes Premiers which is which is a French show on TV that is a talent scouting initiative, which is sponsored by Canal+. She also was awarded the top Young Actress award at Beziers Festival of Young Actors. That led her start her acting career professionally. Tautou attended the Institut Catholique de Paris, and was a member of the church when she was an early girl. However she has now moved away from her religious background. She has stated that she is not officially Catholic. In addition to acting, she pursued modelling and was the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. In addition to her acting career, she has an interest in photography. She recently exhibited some of her photographs during the Arles Film Festival, under the name Superficial. She focuses her photography on stars, fame and media who scrutinized her following her rise to fame with Amelie. There are also numerous photographs of her own self. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and international fame with her first major role starring as the lead in the film Le Fabuleux Destin de l'Amelie Poulain. Amelie was an international box-office success, and received accolades at award ceremonies around the globe. It's still the top grossing French language film in the US. In the wake of this achievement, Tautou was featured in many films from British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Long Sunday de fiancailles and moving into Hollywood under the direction of Ron Howard of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
